HOCKEY LITERATURE for sale
- 1966-67 NORWALK,
Hockey Association official rosters of teams and club officers. Fred
of Whittier was President and Juniors coach. Fred Hildebrand was Midget
Coach and I was Mighty Mite 'Manager'. Mike Lampman of the Midget team
later played for the Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues.
- 1966-67 BURBANK Minor
rosters with team photos for Mighty Mite, Peewee, Bantam, Midget and
(Bucky Waterfield was on the Peewee team. Father was Bob Waterfield of
football fame, mother was Jane Russell. Art Guiney was the manager of
Peewees and the Juniors.
- 1967-68 NORWALK,
Hockey Association, Team Rosters, MIte, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam Blue.
- 1967-68 CULVER CITY,
Association brochure. However it has only a list of club officers and
fact they had a team in every division from Mighty Mite to Junior. The
other six pages list donors.
- March 1968 rosters for
Bay Harbor Redwings (L.A.) versus Portland Oregon Sunshine Dairy.
- 1968-69 NORWALK,
Hockey Association Registered Player Forms for Mite, Squirt, Rookies,
Wees, Bantams and Midgets.
- 1968, BURBANK Minor
small brochure with team photos and rosters for Mighty Mite, Squirt,
(8 to 12), Bantam and Midget. At that time, Fred Fiedler had four sons
playing in four different age brackets and Jorn
Winther, producer of Sonny & Cher, Route 66, etc TV shows, had two.
They were very generous
their time and money, notably with 'Operation East', an annual trek of
L.A. players to the northeastern U.S.

and Qualified referees and linesman for the Greater Los Angeles Minor
Association (GLAMHA) from Bert Prudhomme, VP, GLAMHA.
- 1969-70 LOS ANGELES
page end of season report with excellent writing of a minor hockey club
where specially selected 'competition teams 'played up' all year and
into post season championships in their proper age divisions. The
also covers 'OPERATION EAST' of that year. (In June 1970 I took over as
Treasurer, collected and paid off $10,000 which had been in arrears for
up to 10 months.)
- November 8, 1970,
rosters for exhibition games between selected GLAMHA teams in Squirt,
and Midget divisions to raise money for OPERATION EAST. Stu Nahan,
of Ceremonies, Jiggs McDonald (Kings announcer) drawing for door
the late Art Guiney, Introduction.
- 1970-71, HARBOR CITY
Wings' 20 page 'slick ' program, listing with photos, officers and
of the club's teams. 2 Pollywog, 1 Mighty Mites, 2 Squirt, 2 Peewee, 2
Bantam and 1 Junior. My oldest son, Joe, was on Peewee Gold team, Ben
coach. I helped after Herb Carlbom broke his leg. Ben played 'senior'
L.A. He had been Stan Mikita's first coach.
- 1971 WESTERN AHA US
one page program with rosters of the Pacific Northwest Champion-Seattle
Sno-Kings, Alaska Champion-Anchorage and the California Champion-Los
, coached by Ernie Rucks and Don Begin. From the later team, Aaron
played later for Michigan State and Dwayne Strege coached a
A team in L.A.
A 1971 receipt for a
'Supreme curved stick' from
8013 Jackson, Paramount, California where his cat, "Mouser" always
on the rack of hockey sticks and Lee Findlay NEVER FAILED to say the
tax was 'for the governor's lunch'.
- WHITTIER-LA HABRA Polar
Hockey Association, one page newsletter, 'The Fourth Period', July (no
year stated), Mike Flanigan was President, Dick Sieminski, Head Coach,
- COSTA MESA Ice Capades
Blvd, Squirt-Midget 1972-73 Roster of players and coaches, which shows
Joe Nix and Rollo Miller as Bantam coaches. and Fred Hildebrand as
coach. All I can recall is Rollo, Fred and I starting a 'hockey
Rollo being a skating specialist. I was working 40 miles away across
Angeles and I don't think I did much 'bantam coaching'. I can recall
and I showing slides or charts on hockey skills to a few dedicated
Alex Patterson was listed as a Peewee Coach. I played 'huff and puff'
years with Alex and have a photo of us in a game at the Ice Capades

rinks and teams and hoping for an Anaheim nucleus team. I was about 20
years ahead of 'times', apparently.
- A January 8, 1980. L.A.
listing with extensive detail of condition, appearance and activity
for the 12 ICE RINKS in Greater Los Angeles. Two of those have closed,
Polar Palace 1800 W. Whittier Boulevard, La Habra and West Covina Ice
2235 E. Garvey, West Covina (where we played a lot of adult hockey).
